Bad Bunny Sued for $16 Million Over Alleged Unauthorized Voice Use in Two Songs

The Puerto Rico filing invokes moral-rights, image and privacy laws and asks the court to halt use of the WhatsApp-recorded clip.

Overview

  • Plaintiff Tainaly Y. Serrano Rivera filed the complaint on January 5 against Bad Bunny and Rimas Entertainment LLC, seeking $16 million in damages.
  • The suit says producer Roberto J. Rosado, known as La Paciencia, asked her to record the phrase “Mira puñeta, no me quiten el perreo” via WhatsApp without explaining its intended use.
  • Her voice is alleged to appear in Bad Bunny’s 2018 track “Solo de mí,” the 2025 song “EoO,” and in concerts, promotional material and merchandise, all without authorization or credit.
  • To quantify exposure, the filing cites play counts including roughly 389 million YouTube views and over 540 million Spotify streams for “Solo de mí,” and more than 757 million Spotify streams for “EoO.”
  • News outlets report no public response yet from Bad Bunny or Rimas, and note the case is at an early stage, with prior 2024 voice-use litigation referenced as contextual background.
