Bad Bunny Sued for $16 Million Over Alleged Unauthorized Voice Recording

The complaint filed in Puerto Rico on Jan. 5 claims a WhatsApp voice note was exploited without consent across songs and promotions.

Overview

  • Tainaly Y. Serrano Rivera filed suit against Bad Bunny and Rimas Entertainment LLC seeking $16 million in damages.
  • The filing says producer Roberto J. Rosado, known as La Paciencia, asked her to record a phrase via WhatsApp that was later used without permission.
  • Her voice is alleged to appear in 2018’s Solo de mí and to be reused in 2025’s EoO without consent, credit, or compensation.
  • The suit invokes Puerto Rico’s moral-rights, privacy, and image laws, alleges unjust enrichment, and seeks an injunction to halt further use.
  • The complaint cites hundreds of millions of streams and views for both tracks to show reach, and there has been no public response from Bad Bunny or Rimas as of today.
