Bad Bunny Sued by Puerto Rican Homeowner Over ‘La Casita’ Use

The San Juan filing opens a civil case that accuses producers of replicating his home without informed consent, with no public response yet from the artist.

Overview

  • Román Carrasco, 84, filed a lawsuit in the Court of First Instance in San Juan alleging improper use of his Humacao house known as La Casita.
  • The suit names Bad Bunny and production partners Rimas Entertainment, Move Concerts PR and A1 Productions as defendants for alleged unjust enrichment.
  • Carrasco says he is illiterate, signed on a phone screen, received two checks totaling about $5,200, and alleges his signature was fraudulently transferred to other contracts.
  • His home appeared in the short film Debí Tirar Más Fotos and, according to the complaint, its measurements and images were used to build a full-scale replica for 30 concerts in Puerto Rico.
  • The complaint seeks at least $1 million for emotional damages, with some filings citing up to $5–6 million on enrichment claims, and describes daily fan visits, social media posts and product sales using the house’s image.
