Baaghi 4’ Sets Adult-Rated Debut With 1.27 Lakh Tickets Sold Ahead of Friday Release

Trade expects an Rs 8.5–9.5 crore opening on modest but rising pre-sales.

Overview

  • The CBFC cleared the film with an ‘A’ certificate after 23 mandated changes, including deletions of graphic violence and religiously sensitive shots and muting the word “condom.”
  • Advance booking has crossed roughly 1.1–1.27 lakh tickets and about Rs 2.5–3 crore gross for day one, with Maharashtra and Delhi among the stronger circuits, according to Sacnilk and chain data.
  • National multiplexes reported building momentum, with around 60,000 tickets sold by Wednesday night in PVR, Inox and Cinepolis, yet a trade expert described the ground-level buzz as very low.
  • Projections across outlets put Friday’s India opening in the Rs 8.5–9.5 crore net range as the film launches on September 5 against The Conjuring: Last Rites and The Bengal Files.
  • Directed by A Harsha and starring Tiger Shroff with Sanjay Dutt, Sonam Bajwa and Harnaaz Sandhu, the fourth instalment is the franchise’s first to carry an adults-only rating, with a BookMyShow day-one 50% ticket offer in play.
