Overview

• The spill occurred around 18:50 on Wednesday near the Kaisheim-Süd junction on the B2 between Buchdorf and Donauwörth.
• A 48-year-old farmer’s tractor-trailer convoy lost a trailer tire, causing the trailer to swerve and a sideboard to open.
• About six tonnes of potatoes fell onto the roadway, prompting heavy traffic queues in both directions.
• Volunteer firefighters from Donauwörth directed traffic while crews cleared the road, which became passable again after roughly an hour.
• One-way traffic control continued until shortly after 20:00, and the B2 has since fully reopened.
