Overview

• On September 3, a U.S. B-2 Spirit from the 53rd Wing used AFRL’s QUICKSINK munitions to sink a surface vessel in the Norwegian Sea.
• Norwegian F-35s and a P-8A, along with national infrastructure and airspace access, enabled the live maritime strike in challenging conditions.
• The event demonstrated beyond-line-of-sight targeting and multi-domain sensor-to-shooter procedures intended for contested environments.
• Testing progressed both large and small QUICKSINK variants, with preparations observed for 2,000-pound GBU-31 and 500-pound GBU-38 configurations.
