Overview
- AySA will begin the valve replacement at 22:00 on Tuesday night, October 20, and expects the operation to run into the early afternoon of Wednesday as crews empty, isolate and reinstall sections of Lines 9 and 10.
- The work targets two isolation valves on Lines 9 and 10, the 1,100 mm trunk mains that carry treated water from Planta San Martín to the Estación Elevadora Devoto, and AySA says the existing valves have exceeded their useful life.
- Fifteen north and west Buenos Aires barrios could see low pressure or temporary service interruptions, with the impact varying by location and household position in the distribution network.
- AySA advises residents to ration stored water if possible, notes homes with reserve tanks should be less affected, and warns that brief post-work turbidity may appear but that water remains safe to drink if taps are run until clear.
- The replacement follows months of engineering studies, measurements and pre-closure tests designed to verify isolation steps and pressure behavior, and the company says service will be restored progressively once the conductors are returned to operation.
