Ayodhya Ram Temple Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das Passes Away at 87

The revered spiritual leader, known for promoting harmony and serving as chief priest since the temple's consecration, received ‘Jal Samadhi’ in the Saryu River after his passing.

Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ayodhya's Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, passed away at the age of 87 after suffering a stroke on February 3.
He was admitted to the High Dependency Unit of the Neurology ward at SGPGIMS in Lucknow, where he passed away on February 12, 2025.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak expressed condolences, calling his death an irreparable loss to the spiritual world.
Das was a respected figure in Ayodhya, known for his dedication to Lord Ram and his efforts to foster social harmony across communities.
His last rites were conducted at Saryu Ghat in Ayodhya, where he was given the traditional ‘Jal Samadhi’ in the river.
