Overview
- The Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation will submit a revised structural layout to the Ayodhya Development Authority by the end of December, with approval expected to take at least three months.
- Construction has not begun, and the trust projects an April 2026 rollout if approvals arrive on time.
- The trust estimates about Rs 65 crore for the mosque and related works but reports just over Rs 3 crore in hand and is awaiting FCRA clearance to tap overseas donors.
- A 2021 modern plan was dropped after community objections, and a traditional design with five minars and domes has been finalised for the Mohammad bin Abdullah Masjid.
- Because the effective usable area at Dhannipur is closer to four acres, the trust is considering phased execution or building parts of the complex at additional locations, with plans that include a hospital, community kitchen and research centre.
