Overview
- Vice‑President C P Radhakrishnan inaugurated the 10th Deepotsav on Saturday, November 7, 2026, with Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in attendance at Ram Ki Paidi.
- Organisers placed about 30 lakh earthen lamps across 56 Saryu ghats and staged a large technical programme that included a 2,100‑drone Ramayana show, projection mapping, laser displays and a cinematic facade.
- Security and crowd management were stepped up with CCTV control rooms, surveillance drones, a heavy police presence and specialised teams including NSG commandos and the Uttar Pradesh Anti‑Terror Squad.
- The event featured thousands of performers and international Ramleela contingents and used newly completed riverfront works costing roughly Rs 23.68 crore to expand visitor viewing areas and cultural stages.
- Deepotsav began in 2017 and has grown into an annual state‑run festival that organisers present as both a devotional revival and a tourism development tool that supports potters, volunteers and local livelihoods.
