Overview
- Uttar Pradesh has launched the ‘Ek Diya Ram Ke Naam’ initiative offering Ram Jyoti (₹2,100), Sita Jyoti (₹1,100) and Lakshman Jyoti (₹501) packages through the Divya Ayodhya app.
- Registrations are live on the app and website, enabling a virtual diya on October 19 and delivery of items such as Saryu water, Ayodhya soil, Hanuman Garhi laddoos and mini padukas in India and abroad.
- Officials plan to illuminate the Saryu ghats with 26 lakh lamps and hold a collective Maha Aarti with about 2,100 devotees, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expected to light the first diya.
- The platform serves as a one-stop portal for temple information, travel bookings and homestays, while UP Tourism is offering a one-day Deepotsav trip with road transport from Lucknow.
- This edition features an International Ramlila with 90 artistes from Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal and Sri Lanka from October 17 to 20, alongside 22 tableaux and folk performances highlighting culture and state projects.
