AWS Outage Briefly Takes Down Major Websites

Amazon Web Services experienced an outage that disrupted websites and services for several hours.
The outage was caused by issues with AWS Lambda, a compute service, in the US-EAST-1 region.
News organizations, airlines, fast food apps and other companies were temporarily unable to operate properly.
Although some services have recovered, the outage demonstrates the risks of relying on a single cloud provider.
AWS has not yet provided a full explanation for what caused the Lambda issues that led to the outage.
