Awkwafina to Lead San Francisco's Chinese New Year Parade

The 'Crazy Rich Asians Shang-Chi' star will kick off the Year of the Dragon event on February 24.

Awkwafina, born Nora Lum, has been named the grand marshal of San Francisco’s Chinese New Year Parade, scheduled for February 24.
The actress and rapper, known for her roles in 'Crazy Rich Asians' and 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings', will kick off the Year of the Dragon event.
The Chinese New Year Festival & Parade is a month-long series of street fairs, public art projects and other events running from January 28 to March 3.
Previous grand marshals have included Michelle Yeoh in 2018 and Daniel Wu in 2022.
The honorary grand marshal this year is former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.
