Overview
- The makers released the official teaser on Monday, June 29, 2026, confirming Emraan Hashmi will reprise Shivam Pandit and showing Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in prominent roles.
- Vishesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films is producing the sequel directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui, with a worldwide theatrical release set for August 14, 2026.
- The teaser foregrounds a reimagined version of the title track 'Toh Phir Aao' and signals a music-first promotional push, but reporting differs about who composed the new music.
- Early social-media reaction has skewed strongly nostalgic and praise-filled for Hashmi’s return, with some viewers offering mixed takes on tone and the character’s portrayal.
- Releasing over the Independence Day weekend places Awarapan 2 in direct box-office competition, making the monthlong marketing and music drops critical to its opening-week performance.
