Overview

  • Technicians trucked in 300 tons of pre-washed sand into an 18-inch wooden frame to transform the Intuit Dome floor into a regulation beach volleyball court.
  • Week 5 wrapped Saturday with L.A. Launch extending its perfect run to lead the eight-team standings.
  • Olympic medalists and former NBA athletes, including Phil Dalhausser, Kelly Cheng and Chase Budinger, featured prominently for their city-backed franchises.
  • Indoor conditions eliminated wind and sun variables, producing faster rallies, cleaner jump heights and more powerful serves.
  • The AVP plans to deploy the same portable sand-court model next week in New York’s Central Park to broaden accessibility and fan engagement.
