Overview

  • Transport for London confirmed completion and activation of average-speed cameras between Southbury Road and the North Circular to monitor all traffic on the southern A10.
  • Enfield Council and the Metropolitan Police are enforcing a borough-wide High Court injunction against car cruising, leading to arrests, vehicle seizures and prosecutions with suspended sentences and fines.
  • Data from the 2020 average-speed scheme north of Southbury Road showed fatal and serious collisions fell from seven in 2019 to two in 2023–24, a reduction authorities aim to replicate.
  • The council has opened a public consultation on borough-wide 20mph speed limits for residential streets and town centres in Enfield.
