Overview
- Avelo will exit Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport on August 11 and reduce Hollywood Burbank operations to one aircraft on August 12 before fully ceasing West Coast service on December 2, 2025.
- CEO Andrew Levy said continuing service in the Los Angeles area would not deliver adequate financial returns in a highly competitive backdrop.
- The airline’s April contract with the Department of Homeland Security to operate deportation flights prompted protests and boycotts but was not cited as a factor in the West Coast withdrawal.
- Avelo plans to transfer its departing West Coast aircraft and offer California crew members relocation opportunities to its hubs in Delaware, North Carolina, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Florida.
- Customers holding West Coast reservations can cancel their trips and receive refunds through the Manage Trips section of Avelo.com.
