  • The Way of Water is back in cinemas for a one-week run starting October 2 featuring the first public preview of Fire and Ash and a personal introduction from James Cameron.
  • Disney confirms Avatar: Fire and Ash opens worldwide on December 19, 2025 in IMAX 3D, Dolby Cinema 3D, RealD 3D, 4DX, ScreenX, and other premium formats.
  • Cameron says the cut currently runs about three hours after late changes that brought back the Toruk and required new scenes.
  • VFX work is still being finalized “down to the wire” following years of post-production and R&D after principal photography in 2017–2019.
