Avatar Legends Ships Massive Update 4 and Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2

Developers rebuilt key fighters, added a true ranked ladder and cross-play to repair launch shortcomings and widen the player base.

Overview

  • Gameplay Group International and Paramount Games Studio released Update 4 as the game’s largest post-launch overhaul, rolling out redesigned UI, roster-wide balance changes, and rebuilt Avatar State Aang and Nightmare Korra.
  • The patch introduces Ranked Mode 2.0 with a competitive ladder and spectating, plus beginner-friendly tools such as tutorials, combo trials, and new lobby options to separate new players from veterans.
  • Two stages that had been exclusive to Story Mode, Avatar Road and Air Temple Island, are now available for local and online versus play and players can pick music tracks from stage select.
  • Single-player content and quality-of-life additions include Story Mode+, expanded Arcade content, difficulty settings, gallery improvements, and broader training options to help solo players and casuals.
  • The game launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 29, 2026 with cross-play and a $29.99 digital price while existing Switch owners are eligible for a free Switch 2 upgrade, a move meant to rebuild community trust after the July release left key features missing.
