Overview

• Avatar 4 is set to start filming next month, according to star Sam Worthington.
• Director James Cameron has already shot all live-action scenes for Avatar 4 that take place before a time jump in the story.
• Avatar 3, currently in post-production, is scheduled for a December 2025 release.
• Avatar 4 is expected to release on Dec. 21, 2029, followed by Avatar 5 on Dec. 19, 2031.
• Avatar 3 will introduce a more antagonistic race of Na'vi, the Ash People.
