Avanti West Coast Introduces Low-Alcohol Beer to Enhance Passenger Safety

Avanti West Coast has partnered with Birmingham Brewing Company to launch 'Safety Thirst,' a low-alcohol pale ale with 0.5% ABV.
The initiative is designed to address a 45% increase in alcohol-related train accidents recorded during the 2023 festive period, according to Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) data.
The beer will be available on services along the West Coast Main Line, which connects London Euston to Scotland, to promote responsible drinking among passengers.
The campaign has been praised by safety organizations like Drinkaware, highlighting the growing popularity of low and no-alcohol beverages in the UK.
This effort aligns with broader public safety campaigns, including the government's 'Think!' initiative encouraging zero-alcohol choices for drivers during the holidays.
