A massive avalanche struck near Mana village in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, trapping 57 workers engaged in road construction for the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
Rescue teams, including the ITBP, NDRF, SDRF, and BRO, are working to reach the site, but heavy snowfall and blocked roads are delaying efforts.
Ten workers have been rescued and are receiving treatment at a nearby army camp, though the extent of their injuries remains unclear.
The avalanche occurred approximately 3 kilometers from the Badrinath Dham, a major Hindu pilgrimage site, and has left the area inaccessible due to disrupted communication and road conditions.
The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the region, warning of continued heavy rainfall and snowfall, which could further hinder rescue operations.
