Avalanche in Austrian Alps Claims Three Lives, Injures One

Three Dutch skiers perished and another was hospitalized following an avalanche near the Sölden ski resort in Austria.

The avalanche occurred on Thursday morning, sweeping away four members of a 17-person ski touring group.
Two victims were found deceased immediately, while the other two were initially rescued; one later succumbed to injuries.
The group was accompanied by four Austrian guides and was heading towards a mountain refuge at 2,500 meters elevation.
A moderate avalanche warning was in effect, indicating a heightened risk due to loose snow conditions.
Dutch embassy in Vienna is involved, providing assistance and investigating the incident.
