Avalanche acquire former Stanley Cup champion Ross Colton from Lightning

The Colorado Avalanche traded a second-round draft pick to the Tampa Bay Lightning for forward Ross Colton.
Colton scored 16 goals and had 32 points for the Lightning last season and has 83 points in his NHL career.
Colton won the Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay in 2021 and scored the Cup-clinching goal in Game 5 against Montreal.
The trade is expected to mean that Avalanche forward J.T. Compher will not return to the team next season.
Colton is a restricted free agent and should receive a raise from his $1.25 million salary from last season.
