Overview
- The match is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 11:00 BRT at Estádio da Ressacada and will be shown live on ESPN and Disney+.
- Avaí enters in 17th place with 30 points and relieved Allan Aal of his duties after a 3-0 loss, naming club figure Marquinhos Santos as interim head coach for his debut.
- Ceará sits 15th with 36 points after a 2-2 draw in the previous round and brings back several players from suspension or injury while reporting internal tension over delayed salaries.
- Both clubs published probable lineups that include notable absences and returns, and match officials named are referee Alex Gomes Stefano with Raphael Garcia de Andrade on VAR.
- A win for Avaí would narrow the gap to safety and buy time for the interim coach while a Ceara victory would widen its cushion above the drop zone and test squad morale under financial strain.
