AV Launches New Switchblade and VAPOR Drones at AUSA 2025

Recent live-fire at Fort Hood shows the Army expanding training on the Switchblade 600.

Overview

  • AV introduced the Switchblade 400, a new medium-range anti-armor loitering munition weighing under 40 pounds.
  • The Switchblade 600 Block 2 adds roughly 20 percent more endurance and enables handoff and relay control beyond 100 kilometers.
  • The Switchblade 300 Block 20 now features a modular bay that accepts an explosively formed penetrator warhead for armored targets.
  • AV’s VAPOR Compact Long Endurance variant offers two hours of flight time, a 35-pound packout case, tool-free deployment, modular payloads and onboard autonomy.
  • Soldiers from the 1st Cavalry Division conducted the first Switchblade 600 live-fire at Fort Hood in September, with further training planned at the National Training Center.
