Overview

• Catalonia opened phase one on 22 September for residents in care homes, people 80 and older, pregnant women, healthcare workers and children aged 6–59 months, with children receiving only the flu shot.
• The Catalan health department procured 1.6 million influenza doses and will supply Covid-19 vaccines to recommended groups, with a second phase calling the rest of eligible populations from 13 October.
• Peru’s Ministry of Health launched a National Vaccination Week from 22 to 28 September offering routine and catch‑up shots for children, older adults and pregnant women, the first of four nationwide jornadas scheduled through December with hundreds of thousands of doses projected.
• Madrid has begun vaccinating older adults in residences against RSV, reporting about 12,000 people already immunized and 100,000 doses purchased, targeting more than 50,000 residents and additional high‑risk adults with protection expected to last up to three years.
