Autopsies Scheduled After Two Carnival Guests Drown at Celebration Key

Royal Bahamas Police Force investigations and pending autopsies follow two drownings at the resort; Carnival is providing family assistance as causes of death remain undetermined

Overview

  • A 79-year-old man snorkeling at Celebration Key’s beach became unresponsive just before noon on August 15 and was pronounced dead after lifeguards and medical staff performed CPR.
  • About 2:30 p.m. the same day, a 74-year-old woman was found lifeless in one of the resort’s freshwater lagoons and could not be revived despite lifesaving efforts.
