Overview

• Investigators found a woman on Sept. 19 in a grassy area off East Huller Lane and located a toddler on Sept. 20 about 150 yards away in a marshy spot.
• Authorities identified the victims as 31-year-old Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo and her 1-year-old son, Jeyden Junior Peguero, who had been reported missing since Sept. 12.
• Autopsies at Reading Hospital ruled both deaths homicides, and Berks County Detectives are leading the case with assistance from Reading Police and regional units.
• District Attorney John T. Adams announced a Sept. 29 press conference to provide an update on the investigation.
• Separately, police say 31-year-old Junior Cabrera-Colon, who lived with the victims, was found fatally shot on Sept. 13; 61-year-old Jose Luis Rodriguez has been charged and is jailed without bail, claiming self-defense.
