Overview

• On July 23, elements of the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública, Policía Municipal, Agrupamiento Forestal y Ambiental and Guardia Civil responded to a tip and secured the illegally logged site in the Uruapan–Playa Azul corridor.
• Officials documented an illicit felling of more than 34,200 cubic meters of trees, affecting roughly two hectares of forest.
• Two vehicles were confiscated at the scene, including one reported as stolen, alongside over three cubic meters of cut timber.
• All seized materials have been delivered to competent authorities for legal processing.
• A sustained regional patrol operation remains in force but has yet to yield any arrests.
