  • The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on July 1 that remains recovered June 28–29 at the Elk River landfill belong to 16-year-old Jordan Manny Collins Jr.
  • Collins was last seen on May 8 in the 4900 block of University Avenue NE in Columbia Heights after being reported missing against his will.
  • Investigators used surveillance footage and waste-truck routing data to trace his body from a Columbia Heights dumpster to a plot in the northwest metro landfill.
  • The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to establish the cause and manner of his death.
  • Local, state, and federal agencies are coordinating the search for those responsible and have pledged to pursue lawful arrests.
