Overview

• Friends reported Moody missing around 7:50 p.m. on May 21 after she failed to respond to calls or cell-phone pings
• Scottsdale officers, Phoenix Police Department helicopters and Maricopa County search and rescue teams began searching the Gateway Trailhead area that night and resumed at dawn
• The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Air Unit located her body at approximately 12:05 p.m. on May 22, about 600 yards from the marked trail
• Investigators noted Moody’s vehicle remained parked at the trailhead and saw no obvious signs of trauma or foul play at the scene
• The Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner will determine her cause of death as authorities continue their investigation
