Austrian President Alexander van der Bellen was bitten on the hand by the dog of Moldovan President Maia Sandu during an official visit to Moldova.
The incident occurred when van der Bellen attempted to pet the dog, named Codrut, and it snapped at him out of nervousness due to the large crowd.
Despite the incident, van der Bellen showed no hard feelings and later presented a small toy for the dog.
Van der Bellen was in Moldova to discuss the country's bid to join the European Union, a meeting that also included Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar.
The Austrian president later posted about the incident on his Instagram, stating that he is a big dog lover and understood the dog's excitement.
