Austria Launches TU Austria ‘Focus India’ to Recruit Indian STEM Graduates

The publicly funded drive opens intake for over 300 candidates into two‑year master’s tracks linked to a one‑year post‑study work route.

Overview

  • Applications are being handled by VFS Education Services for eligible BE, BTech or BSc (Hons.) graduates from ANABIN‑recognised institutions, with evaluation based on grades, English proficiency and one‑to‑one assessments.
  • Programmes span metallurgy, biotechnology, circular engineering, computer science, AI and robotics, sustainable technologies, petroleum engineering and green chemistry with integrated industry exposure and placements.
  • More than 300 master’s seats are available across TU Graz, TU Leoben and TU Wien, plus a limited number of bachelor’s places at TU Leoben, with subsidised tuition set at €726.72 per semester plus a €25 student union fee.
  • Graduates receive a one‑year post‑study visa extension with eligibility for Austria’s Red‑White‑Red Card pathway to facilitate entry into the labour market.
  • The initiative operates under the IndiaAustria Migration and Mobility Partnership and is designed to ease Austria’s STEM skills shortages while expanding affordable study options for Indian students.
