Australian Open officials have announced a 13% increase in prize money for the upcoming tournament, raising the total pool to $58.4 million.
The increase is a boost of 10 million Australian dollars ($6.8 million).
First-round qualifiers will see a 20% increase in their prize money, receiving about $21,000.
Men's and women's singles champions will each receive about $2.15 million.
The women's final is scheduled for January 27, with the men's final following on January 28.
