Queensland Police arrested the woman on Thursday, charging her with torture, administering poison, fraud, and creating child exploitation material.
Authorities allege the woman gave unauthorized medications to the child between August and October 2024, causing severe distress and harm.
The woman reportedly raised $60,000 AUD (approximately $37,000 USD) on GoFundMe by sharing videos of the child in distress, which are now under investigation.
Medical staff alerted authorities in October 2024 after the child was hospitalized for a serious medical condition, leading to police intervention.
GoFundMe is working to refund donors, while the child, removed from the woman's care, is reportedly recovering well.
