Australian Hiker Survives 13 Days Lost in Wilderness on Berries and Muesli Bars

Hadi Nazari, 23, was rescued after being lost in the dense terrain of the Snowy Mountains, surviving on minimal food and water sources.

Hadi Nazari, a 23-year-old student, became separated from his group while hiking in Australia’s Snowy Mountains on December 26, 2024.
Nazari survived for nearly two weeks by drinking from streams, eating wild berries, and consuming two muesli bars he found in a remote shelter.
The search operation involved up to 400 people and located his camera, which contained a video explaining how he became lost.
Nazari was found on January 8, 2025, after calling out to other hikers, who alerted authorities for his rescue by helicopter.
Despite the ordeal, Nazari was reportedly in good spirits and alert but dehydrated when found, according to police statements.
