Australia Extends Immi App to Pakistan, Letting Eligible Visa Applicants Submit Biometrics by Phone

Eligibility is limited to applicants who have previously provided biometrics to Home Affairs.

Overview

  • Effective November 25, eligible Pakistan-based applicants can upload passport details and facial biometrics via the free app instead of travelling to biometric collection centres.
  • The High Commission says the tool cuts time and travel costs for travellers, students and skilled workers while standard visa forms and supporting documents remain compulsory.
  • Access in Pakistan applies to cases with Visa Lodgement Numbers starting with AUI or AUH, and others must attend an Australian Biometrics Collection Centre, Geo News reported.
  • The app launched in 2024 and is now available in 34 countries as part of a Home Affairs modernisation of the Biometric Collection Program, with full rollout targeted for early 2026.
  • The process uses a smartphone camera and NFC to read e‑passports and capture a live photo, with ImmiAccount updates typically within 24 hours when submissions are complete.
