• Australia enters the ODI series on the back of a 2-1 T20I victory and a rise to second in the ICC T20I rankings.
• Mitchell Marsh will captain Australia in the absence of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, with the squad shaped by retirements of Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell.
• South Africa’s touring party is led by Temba Bavuma and features Dewald Brevis, who struck a 41-ball century and a 22-ball fifty in the T20Is.
• The first ODI will be played at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns on August 19, followed by two matches at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay on August 22 and 24.
