Australia and England to Play Historic Day-Night Test for Cricket's 150th Anniversary

The match, scheduled for March 2027 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, will be the first men's pink-ball Test at the iconic venue.

The 150th Anniversary Test will take place from March 11-15, 2027, commemorating the first-ever Test match held at the MCG in 1877.
This will be the first men's day-night Test played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, following a successful women's pink-ball Test earlier this year.
Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg highlighted the match as a celebration of Test cricket's heritage and evolution, designed to boost attendance and viewership.
The venue previously hosted the Centenary Test in 1977, where Australia defeated England by 45 runs, echoing the result of the original 1877 match.
The historic match will follow Australia's 2027 home series against India and comes two years after the upcoming Ashes series starting in November 2025.
