Austin Police Seek Public Help to Identify Suspect in October Bennett Apartments Package Thefts

Detectives are offering up to $1,000 for tips that lead to an arrest.

  • APD issued a Nov. 4 public appeal to identify a suspect in two Bennett Apartments burglaries that detectives say may be tied to other property crimes.
  • The incidents occurred on Oct. 1 at 9:45 a.m. and Oct. 21 at 6:37 p.m. at 7301 S. IH 35 SVRD NB in south Austin.
  • In both cases the intruder entered without authorization, accessed the mail room, and stole a large number of residents’ packages.
  • Police described the suspect as a young Black male with a heavy build, medium-length dreadlocks with tight curls, and an “R” tattoo on his right hand near the base of the thumb.
