Overview

• APD identified Samson Seablom, 47, as the driver who died at the scene of an Aug. 11 two-vehicle crash at South 1st Street and West William Cannon Drive; the other driver and a pedestrian struck by debris were taken to a hospital.
• The Aug. 11 collision is being investigated as Austin’s 60th fatal crash of 2025, with 64 deaths recorded citywide at that time.
• APD said Javar R. Quinton was the pedestrian hit on Aug. 2 in the 2000 block of Airport Boulevard; he died at the hospital on Aug. 16, and the driver remained at the scene and cooperated.
• The Airport Boulevard case is classified as the city’s 63rd fatal crash of the year, bringing the total to 67 deaths.
