Overview

• APD identified Samson Seablom, 47, as the driver who died at the scene of an Aug. 11 two-vehicle collision at South 1st Street and West William Cannon Drive.
• The other driver from the Aug. 11 crash was taken to the hospital, and a pedestrian struck by debris was also hospitalized.
• Police classify the Aug. 11 crash as Austin’s 60th fatal crash of 2025 with 64 total deaths to date, compared with 55 crashes and 59 deaths at the same time in 2024.
• In a separate case, APD said pedestrian Javar R. Quinton died on Aug. 16 after a vehicle-pedestrian collision reported at 12:32 a.m. on Aug. 2 in the 2000 block of Airport Boulevard; the driver remained at the scene and cooperated.
• APD lists the Airport Boulevard case as the 63rd fatal crash of 2025 with 67 fatalities, and investigators are seeking tips via the Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-8111 or Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477.
