Overview

  • Open Now launched August 6 with more than 100 curated service listings for needs ranging from cooling centers to healthcare.
  • Users can filter the map by water, hygiene, substance use recovery or nutrition needs.
  • The platform displays hours of operation, contact details, offers Google Translate for language support.
  • Navigation handoff automatically opens Google Maps with turn-by-turn directions for pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders or drivers.
  • Developed in collaboration with the Information Systems Department, community partners, Esri, Open Now is designed to evolve as HSO incorporates user feedback submitted through an in-app form.
