Austin Airport Issues ACL Fest Travel Alert With Peak Dates and Early Arrival Guidance

The airport is publishing specific tips to reduce delays during peak ACL weekends.

Overview

  • Austin-Bergstrom International Airport projects more than 35,000 departing passengers on Oct. 3, 5–7 and Oct. 10, 12–14 tied to the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
  • Travelers are advised to arrive at least 2.5 hours early for domestic flights and 3 hours for international flights, given construction around the terminal and heavier festival traffic.
  • On-site parking is not expected to sell out and reservations are available at ABIAParking.com, though shuttles running every 15–20 minutes may experience delays from festival congestion.
  • Security operations include three checkpoints opening as early as 3 a.m., TSA PreCheck and Clear at Checkpoint 2 West with CLEAR-only screening at Checkpoint 1, and updated TSA rules that no longer require shoe removal.
  • Allegiant and Frontier fly from the separate South Terminal at 10000 Logistics Lane, which is not connected to the Barbara Jordan Terminal, and passengers on those carriers are encouraged to park onsite there.
