Overview
- Officers responded around 11:13 p.m. on Aug. 28 to the 2000 block of West Galena Boulevard after a report that a teen demanded money from a 70-year-old man and attacked him.
- Doctors at Mercy Hospital confirmed the victim suffered a broken orbital bone, facial swelling to both eyes, and a laceration.
- The victim provided a description and location of the assailant, and officers found a 17-year-old nearby who ran but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.
- The Aurora teen is charged with two counts of aggravated battery, aggravated battery to a person over 60, attempted robbery, and resisting a peace officer, and he is being held at the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center.
