Overview
- Officers were called around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday to the 400 block of Valentine Way after the victim’s husband reported seeing a man chase her into the garage on their home cameras.
- Police identified the victim as 41-year-old Ashley A. Stewart and said her ex-husband, Ryan D. Dodd, 44, of Aurora, was taken into custody within minutes.
- Prosecutors charged Dodd with first-degree murder, home invasion, armed violence, residential burglary and aggravated stalking.
- The Kendall County Coroner’s Office said an autopsy found multiple sharp-force injuries consistent with a fatal stabbing.
