Aurora Homicide Suspect Arrested in Utah After Fatal Parking-Lot Shooting

Overview

• Officers responded around 6:10 p.m. Tuesday to a parking lot in the 1200 block of South Havana Street in Aurora and found a woman with a gunshot wound who later died at a hospital.
• Eric Douglas, 32, was taken into custody Thursday in Sigurd, Utah on suspicion of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
• Denver7 reports the Salt Lake City FBI Field Office and the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team made the arrest.
• Douglas was booked into the Sevier County Jail in Utah and will remain there pending extradition to Colorado, according to investigators.
• Aurora police say the investigation is active and invite tips to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP, with anonymous tipsters eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
