• NOAA’s three-day outlook calls for G2 geomagnetic storming Monday with a chance of G3 on Tuesday as the CME reaches Earth.
• Viewing could extend unusually far south, with chances as low as central Iowa and northern Illinois across roughly 18 northern states.
• Best prospects are after dark Monday into early Tuesday, especially between about 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. in dark, north-facing locations.
• States with elevated odds include Alaska and parts of the Pacific Northwest, Northern Plains, Upper Midwest, and the Northeast near the Canadian border.
• Short-term intensity and arrival are only predictable about 30 minutes ahead via DSCOVR and ACE data, and minor effects to radio and satellites are possible.
