Aurora Chiropractor Charged With 13 Additional Sex Abuse Counts After New Victims Come Forward

He was released to home confinement under electronic monitoring and faces his next hearing on July 8.

Overview

  • A DuPage County grand jury returned a 13-count indictment charging 46-year-old Murtaza Hameed with criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and related offenses connected to alleged incidents at Arwa Chiropractic between July 2016 and January 2025.
  • Three more alleged victims, ranging from pre-adolescents to adults, have come forward since Hameed’s initial May arrest, bringing the total number of accusers to five.
  • At a June court appearance, a judge granted Hameed release on electronic monitoring with home confinement and ordered him not to contact any minors except his own children.
  • DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin praised the victims for their courage and encouraged anyone with information or who believes they were a victim to contact his office or Aurora police.
  • Prosecutors indicated they will pursue additional charges if further victims emerge during the ongoing investigation.
